News Desk Report | Veritas Times:
A Thai couple visiting India’s capital city, Delhi, shared a distressing experience after being surrounded by strangers asking for money. The couple said some people even tried to touch them while they were seated in an auto-rickshaw, leaving them uncomfortable and shaken.
The couple, who are travel content creators, posted a video of the incident on social media. In the clip, they are seen sitting inside a rickshaw at a busy Delhi traffic signal, while several beggars, including children, approach them repeatedly asking for money and physically trying to get their attention.
The Thai influencer, visibly disturbed, said in the video:
“I can’t stand strangers touching me. It felt really uncomfortable and emotionally draining.”
She added that the incident made her feel overwhelmed:
“I wanted to enjoy Delhi, but that moment made me anxious and tired.”
Despite the unpleasant encounter, the couple mentioned that they did enjoy parts of their Delhi trip, including visiting historical sites, tasting Indian street food, and exploring markets.
“India is a beautiful country,” they said, “but some moments can be mentally exhausting.”
Tourism experts have pointed out that this video highlights the need for stronger safety and awareness measures to make Indian cities more tourist-friendly, especially for foreign visitors.
