In a grand ceremony held today at The Spring Club near Eastern Metropolitan Bypass, the cultural organization Geetanjali presented the ‘Kolkata Ratna’, ‘Pride of Kolkata’, and ‘Best of Kolkata’ awards for the first time.

Speaking to Veritas Times, event coordinator Subrata Sinha said,

"This year, we are proud to honor six eminent personalities with the Kolkata Ratna Award."

The awardees include:


World-famous magician P. C. Sorcar (Jr.), Renowned academic and writer Dr. Pabitra Sarkar, Social worker Dr. M. P. Rosario, Celebrated singer Lopamudra Mitra, Actor Sabyasachi Chakrabarty,  Actress and dancer Mamata Shankar.

The Pride of Kolkata Award was given to:

The Best of Kolkata award was presented to a local club organization, Uttar Kolkata Udayer Pothe, for their contribution to community upliftment.

All the awardees received a bouquet, trophy, and a certificate of honor.

After receiving the award, Anupam Haldar, honored as Pride of Kolkata, told Veritas Times:

“I am truly thrilled to receive this recognition on the same stage with such respected personalities. This award motivates me to work even harder in the future.”
